JOB DESCRIPTION

            TITLE:                                    Partner

            CLASSIFICATION:              Full-time, exempt

            REPORTS TO:                      Managing Partner

 

DEFINITION

Partners have demonstrated a high commitment to the firm and strong, effective leadership and communication skills.  Partners focus on managerial, administrative, and promotional procedures while also assuming primary client responsibility.

 

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Partners are expected to accept overall responsibility for the firm by:

                      Keeping the firm’s name before the public by accepting speaking engagements, publishing articles and books, and participating in business, civic, and professional activities

                      Monitoring all staff-client contacts by periodically reviewing engagements with clients, and reviewing and signing all work before submitting it to clients

                      Developing and monitoring policies and procedures to increase productivity and fees without loss of morale or motivation

                      Overseeing recruiting efforts of managers, ensuring that the firm has the resources necessary for attracting quality employees

                      Maintaining high professional standards

                      Complying with all peer review requirements

 

ASSIGNMENTS

Partners are expected to:

                      Schedule work for the client services staff

                      Make sure adequate training is provided for all staff members

                      Manage budgetary and financial matters

                      Maintain quality control

                      Review staffing requirements and make related decisions annually or as needed

                      Provide technical expertise as needed

                      Ensure that all client contact reflects the firm’s commitment to quality service

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Partners are expected to develop professionally by:

                      Acting as liaison between the firm and the public

                      Attracting new business to the firm

                      Maintaining close contact with clients, particularly referral sources

                      Researching and implementing new services that can be provided for existing clients

                      Continuing to accept speaking engagements, publish articles, and promote the firm whenever possible

                      Conveying the importance of the firm’s commitment to quality growth to all staff members

                      Learning new technology the firm introduces into the work environment

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Required licenses, certificates, knowledge, and skills

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

            Minimal safety hazards, general office conditions.
